Walnut View – Privacy Policy
Walnut View is a browser extension by Project OWBA (The Walnut Trading Company). It displays pre-defined reference levels on TradingView charts for educational price-action analysis. The extension does not provide trading advice, trading signals, or execute trades.
What the extension processes (locally in your browser)
- Your display preferences (e.g., which overlays are enabled).
- A Cognito ID token if you choose to sign in, used only to authenticate with the Walnut View backend.
- Cached copies of the reference-level data you are entitled to access.
What our servers process
If you sign in via the hosted Cognito login screen, our backend receives:
- Your email address (only because Cognito stores it as part of your account).
- Your subscription/plan status.
- Token identifiers (e.g.,
jti) and expiry timestamps.
We do not receive or store:
- Financial or payment information.
- Brokerage or trading account data.
- Trading history, chart content, or order activity from TradingView or any other site.
What we never collect
- Page content, chart drawings, financial positions, or order details.
- Browser history, keystrokes, mouse movements, or behaviour analytics.
- Payment card details (any purchases are processed by Stripe or your platform of choice).
- Any financial or investment data from external websites.
Where data goes
The extension communicates only with Walnut View backend services to authenticate and download reference-level data:
- https://api.owba.uk/ (reference-level data)
- CloudFront CDN (assets/data)
- Cognito Hosted UI (sign-in)
No data is shared with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
How we use data
- Authenticate you with Cognito so the extension can fetch the correct daily levels.
- Display reference levels on TradingView for educational use.
- Prevent abuse (e.g., token validity checks).
We do not sell data, profile users, or use data for advertising.
Security
- All communication is over HTTPS/TLS.
- Tokens remain local in your browser unless you sign in again.
- No remote code is injected or executed by the extension.
Retention
- Local preferences and tokens remain until you sign out or remove the extension.
- Server-side account and token-audit records may be retained for up to 12 months for fraud prevention, unless required longer by legal obligations.
Your choices
- You may sign out at any time to clear local authentication tokens.
- You may request account deletion by emailing owba.email@gmail.com.
Children
Walnut View is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly process children’s data.
